The much awaited moment of "Ganesh Nimajjan" commenced today in Hyderabad. Thousands of Ganesh idols from all nooks and corners of twin cities have started making their journey to Hussain Sagar lake right from Saturday midnight. More than 25,000 police personnel are being deployed for the bandhobasth. Greater Hyderabad commissioner Mr. Singh and city police chief Prasada Rao are monitoring the situation and special control posts are put up at several sensitive areas. Journey of the massive Khairatabad Ganesh idol started close to midnight. The process of Nimajjanam is considered complete as and when this giant idol is immersed. As a precautionary measure, the police have kept 28 expert divers as standby.Meanwhile, the Balapur Ganesh Laddu fetched Rs. 5.07 lakh at a neck-and-neck auction.
